My first attempt at panning shots, any suggestions for dealing with a chain link fence when you cant get above it?

^ Yes get closer to it, hold your lens against the fence and make it rotate around that point by moving yourself. It's not very easy but I have done it before.

Note shots!

Also, set your aperture to as "wide open" as your lens allows (f/2.8, f/4 etc), and set your shutter-speed and ISO accordingly (but this will also limit your ability to show motion-blur, so you'll probably need to balance out these two factors and stop-down some).

Good job on the panning for your first attempt, you've got a fairly steady hand to shoot at 1/25th.

I'll have to try that. For these I was two rows of people back from the fence and shooting over/between heads. Thank you!

I did take a few shots at 2.8 and yes the fence disappears more but the lack of motion blur kills the shot to me.

Thank you!!
