I'm in the middle of clearing a house I inherited, and the best buyers demanded an early move. Right after listing my 5DIII for sale.
Anyone know the best program to check this that definitely will not mess up my firmware.
I did a search and couldn't find the right program thread.

Particularly interested in any 5DIII owner who have used a program that works and does not mess up the firmware. Please

I used EOScount for my 5D3

Thanks used that and it worked.

Except the first time the camera would not turn on.
Took off the cable and the camera still would not work - nada!
Then I realised I had the 5DS R battery in the 5D3.

Very wierd as 2 the 5D3 batteries work in the 5DS R!!!!

I had not tried it the other way around. I do hope that program hasnt trashed my new 5DSR battery?

I need to see if it works in the 5DSR .

Both 5D3 batteries work perfectly in the 5D3 after using the shutter count.

I guess there is a small chance that the 5DSR Battery was totally flat ??? But unlikely as they are left charged.

But have to get the house move over first.

Interested if any one has used a 5DS R batterry the N one in. 5D3 and if it worked?

Update >>>>>
May be a false alarm, it was totally flat!
I forgot that last shoot drained it in 998 images.
Charged for a few seconds , very slow blinking - and when put in the camera managed to partially light the data card red led and then that died.
So I am sure withthe full charge it will be good to go.

But interested to know if the 5DS R suffix N should work in a 5D3
