I will be travelling to Iceland in June. Just bought a new backpack and noticed the tight restrictions for Icelandair carry on.
Has anyone ever travelled with the Lowepro Trekker 450 AW backpack as carry on?
Any issues? I do have a smaller backup if it's not possible just checking my options as this would be my 1st choice.

You will be pushing your luck in several regards.

Icelandic has size limitations of 55 x 40 x 20 cm and 10 kg (22#). The Lowepro Trekker 450 AW is 57.3 x 49.3 x 35.9 cm so in all three dimensions you are too big and not by just a small amount. So very likely this will have visual interest. If you get past the size issue but are confronted by a weighing procedure then it is highly probable you will exceed, again by a substantial amount, the 10 kg (22#) max. The bag alone weighs 4.1 kg and I assume you think you need this bag because of the amount of gear you anticipate carrying.

Personally I think you should be looking at alternatives. Perhaps a checked Pelican case or something similar and I would then be suggesting some gear insurance. Make sure the gear is covered internationally as well.

I also suggest you review the thread at https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1135283. It is a few years old but as you can see carry on luggage was checked carefully back then, and the requirements have likely gotten tighter.
