I set up a custom AF for shooting flying birds and want to use a zone AF point setting. When I switch to the Custom AF, the default AF point is a single point in the center of the viewfinder. When I switch the AF point setting to zone, it will stay with that setting for a period of time, but then switch back to the single AF point....

Suggestions on how to maintain the AF point zone setting? Why does it keep switching back to a single AF point?

Thanks in advance.

Do you see a single point activate within the zone or does it revert to single point AF completely?

Exactly how did you "set up a custom AF"? There are several ways, and they don't work the same, all of them.

Hello. Have you resolved your problem? I was going to ask the same question Anders did when you replied but he beat me to it. If this is happening while in Zone AF you can select not to use an initial AF point.

I'm going on a shoot tomorrow... I'll see if I can get more specific on how I am setting this up.
