Tons arrived here recently,with lots of both sexes,and juveniles galore.even spotted 2 white-winged scoters,and red breasted merganzers.
The scoters are staying out for now,but will eventually come in closer.

Good shot. I saw them by the thousands when I worked on the Great Lakes in the early '70's. We called them the politically incorrect Oldsquaw back then.

Yes,i knew them by that name also.Since the accidental introduction of the zebra mussels,back then,there are many species of the shell eating sea ducks wintering in the great lakes
