Hi folks. Bought the 6D with the 24-105L kit lens. Looked all over for a serial number to register the warranty but can't seem to find it. Any ideas? Thanks.

It is hard to see but the serial number is engraved and filled with black paint on the flange of the lens mount.

Looking at the rear mount hold the lens with the red dot in the 3-o'clock position. The electrical contacts should be at about 12 o'clock position. The S/N should be slightly to the left or counterclockwise of the contacts on the outer ring. I also believe you can extract the serial numbers from an image taken with the lens. Check the EXIF information.

I tried looking everywhere. No luck. Google images shows me that it's supposed to be engraved on "bottom" of lens. Here is what mine looks like:

"Bottom" of lens means the rear mount, the part that "screws" into the camera body.

You have to take the lens off the camera body.
