Is that consistent with the fact that when the wrong post comes up, it's the one just after the right one?

In several tries just now, the link in this thread went to one post or the other indifferently.

I've never had this error when starting from RTAT or New Posts.

When I click the link, it takes me to ejenner's post. I click the link again, it takes me to OhLook's post.
I click the link a third time, it takes me to ejenner's post. I click the link a fourth time, it takes me to OhLook's post.

It seems to me that if this was about bandwidth it wouldn't consistently alternate between doing it wrong and doing it right like this.

In my tests, it performs randomly rather than consistently alternating.

I can't get it to open anything but OhLook's post, even repeatedly clicking on the link (either clicking through or opening in new tab). What browser(s) and computer OS?

Edit: I got it to open the "wrong" post once out of 8-10 clicks (opening in new tab) on the HU; none from the post link.

I really think it has to do with browser caching and refresh.

Mac OS 10.6.8. Current Firefox.

Test it with Safari and see if the same thing happens. Like I said, I had to click on the link several dozen times to get one occurrence of the wrong post. Windows 10 and Edge. Also IE 11 and Windows 7.

With OS X 10.11.1 and Safari 9.0.1 I'm getting the wrong post on the first click and the correct post on subsequent clicks.

The scroll target fluctuates as there is earlier in that thread page a broken image that loads intermittently (on/off). I marked that to the system as broken (icon and explanation shown, no attempt to load it) and now the scroll should target the intended post every time.
