Selling a photo to a business venture

Can anyone advise on how to price a photo to a product manufacturer? From our current negotiations they don't want to put my image on their product packaging but do want to use it for brochures, banners at trade shows, maybe website, etc.

My best guess is to compare what they could expect to pay at a stock photo agency such as Getty but obvioulsy mine would be worth more since it was specifically requested.

I was thinking $300-500, but that's just a wild [Butt] guess.

Anyone?

$300-$500 seems a little low to me. It depends on usage, length of usage, etc. Just plugging in the info you have provided into the Getty Image Price Calculator, a 1 year term of usage rights for a photo used in an advertorial capacity would be around $2000USD.

So one thing I've learned to anybody else who may find this interesting: The difference between the cheapie Royalty Free images and the far more expensive Rights Managed images. Why can you buy some images for $50 and others will cost $5,000?
