A lot of photographers have led interesting lives, nature of the business/art I suppose. But this guy may have led the most interesting of all.

But this guy may have led the most interesting of all. Couple of Canon bodies, a couple of Canon lens, few gadgets all stuffed in a bag...and a stick, and a tripod.

You're right, many photographers have lived interesting lives. I bet a lot on here could share some interesting stories. I come from a photographic family. My Dad shot his share of interesting people.
