Hi all,

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good compact or semi compact camera that shoots slo-mo video at a decent resolution at around the 400-600 fps rate.....I know, I can hear the giggles already however there must be some out there...
Looking to spend up to $2000 NZ Pesos......

Any info and help appreciated...

What's a "decent" resolution? Most slow-mo cameras I've seen like that (not that I've looked at many) have very small res files. I recently saw a Kickstarter project called FPS1000, that was a "cheap" slow mo camera, but when/if you'd ever get it is the question. It's only a preorder at the moment.

I seem to recall the Sony RX10II being touted as an exceptional choice for slo-mo, though I must admit I have never used one.

It offers these resolutions: 1,824×1,026 at 240fps, 1,676×566 at 480fps and 1,136×384 at 960fps.

Not sure on price in NZ. It's $1300 in the states, which is close to 2000 NZ$.

I think the much more compact RX100mkIV has pretty similar video specs, and sells for closer to $1000.

I think if you're looking for more than 2 or 4s at ~1000fps then you're basically stuck renting/buying a Phantom for the moment.
