I just got a 16-35L f4 IS! :-D.
It is a new lens and therefore I assume it was made in 2015.
But I cannot find a Uxxxxxxx date code in the usual location.
Only my 10 digit serial on the outside center of the barrel.

I have searched here and on the web regarding this lens specifically, but only get results for the 16-25 f2.8

Thanks in advance.

Interesting. As the first thread regard their cancellation in the results is dated 2012.

This recent thread mentions a 2015 UDxxxxxx dated lens.

So I just assumed I was blind to the date-code's location.

I think new designs don't get codes. Older designs manufactured recently get codes.
That's why 135L still get codes. 16-35 F4 newer design so no codes.
