All images were captured without changing the position of the camera, light or target. I wanted to fill the frame with the target, so it the light was angled as a matter of convenience.

The X1-N manual says to set it to 1/250 Auto FP, so that's what I used. I also tried 1/320 Auto FP, and the results were the same.

I wonder how it works when used in a multi strobe/speedlight setup using different brands like Canon speedlights, Rovelight, YongNuo speedlights....or even Profotos. http://philfernandezphotography.com

That's why your getting the darker image at 1/250th though, the flash is going into HSS mode.

Switching to HSS at 1/250 would be a mistake because that's the normal x-sync speed for many Nikon bodies. Assuming that's the issue, Godox should provide a firmware update to get it fixed. I reported this (via email) to Godox 4-5 days ago, but they aren't known to be very responsive.

Your Nikon results are even worse than mine. My exposures were fairly even except for 1/250, while yours appear to be dropping with each change in shutter speed.

X-xync speeds for cameras are determined based on having a speedlite in the hotshoe or a light attached to the camera via a PC connected cable. David | Sharing my Insights, Knowledge & Experience
