I ended up buying a Matthews c-stand with a 40' grip arm and grip head. Works well with the AD600 and 120cm octabox, for what I need and will probably give in a but the new head as I ordered a Gel-Clip Lighting Extension Spigot today. I was missing a 5/8 spigot but found that the long extension bar from a socket set works so that will do nicely for now.
Just caught my 9 year old doing chin-ups [kinda], using the C-stand with 40' grip arm as I'd left it set up in the studio, glad those things are so solid.

Hi, The 'Gel-Clip Lighting Extension Spigot' might be exactly what you need but the spigot/stud end is again slightly non standard. So try it with any 5/8 receivers you have - but don't be surprised if you have to shorten the end (hack-saw & file) to get some receivers to lock on securely & remain on-axis. PM me if you run into bother - there's no point in reinventing the wheel.

I have (3) XPLOR 600s from Adorama with the appropriate Canon transmitter for my 5D3. However, I just ordered an A7RII - can I just buy the appropriate Sony transmitter and use my same XPLOR 600s? Are the XPLOR 600 units themselves brand specific or just the transmitters?

Thanks!

From what I understand it's just the transmitters, the unit can work with all three systems

Thanks OceanRipple* will report back if the air leaks out of my tyre.

I hope that's the case. It's unlikely I'd buy more just for my Sony, but it'd be nice to use my existing units with just a new transmitter.

The 600x can do this using the alt mask mode in the Custom Functions.

Learn how to set your ult mask function video.

Yes Godox is going to be releasing an AP to control the flashes from your phone

I REALLY wish Godox would add this feature to it's small flashes.

I've already written the software to to automate the alt masking for my photobooth but I just don't have the room.

Here is what space I had to work with at my last wedding. I was literally shooting around a corner.

I don't see the phone directly communication with th flashes over WiFi. I assume a USB receiver stick is going to be in one of AD600 that commands/sets the other flashes.

Edit: I had this option already for a long time with Pocket Wizard however I have to position the flashes manually in the correct sequence I want them to fire.

Connectivity-wise. -- My Elinchrom app on my iPhone uses WiFi to speak to all my Eli strobes. My PC uses a USB stick w/WiFi to speak to the strobes too. I setup a local wifi network with an Eli device and go. Also, the new Eli Skyport HS Pro trigger also talks to the strobes without the WiFi device.

There is a new 1.6 firmware for the AD600M/B that optimizes the battery usage.

Thanks Dave and I guess for now these don't work with Fuji. It seems Adorama versions also come in TTL and Manual versions. I care less of TTL but would like to try the new HSS modes that these lights have.

Yes, Adorama has both. Cheetah only the manual version.
I think HSS works with both versions. I have the TTL so can't confirm with the manual.

Since Adorama has the Fuji, Panasonic etc. options on the product page I expect that means they have gotten Godox to commit to implementing those options. All it takes is money in the form of a purchase agreement.

I did that often with OEM manufacturers. Ask for features in a product and make a sufficiently large purchase commitment to pay the engineering cost.
