I have a question for the savvy PS CS users.
When I create an action in PS CS, where are they located?
I thought that I could extract them and transfer them to another computer to use.
Is this even possible?

The actions you create will usually be stored in the Default Action set unless you go out of your way to change that. If you want to create your own action set which you can use on another computer, this is way to do it:

1. In the Action palette, click on the triangle icon on the upper right hand corner of the window to bring up the Action popup menu and select New Set.

2. Give your your action set a name and click OK.

3. Making sure the new action set is highlighted (click on it if it isn't), create new actions for it. If you already have actions created that are in the Defualt Action set, then you can either move it by drag-dropping it from there to the new action set or create a duplicate of it (select Duplicate from the Action popup menu) and then drag-drop it if you want to keep the original action in the Default Action set.

4. When you are done setting up your action set, bring up the Action popup menu again (as decribed in Step 1 above) and, with your action set selected, click on Save Actions to save the actions in a file.

If you are running windows, the file will be saved in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop xx\Presets\Photoshop Actions.

Copy the atn file you just created and move it to another version of PS or to another computer.

Hey PacAce, that helped alot. Thank you very much for that information. I see my problem was not saving the action. You woulfd think Adobe would do that for you once you go through all the trouble to create the action to save it. I spent alot of time saerching through the PS files wondering where this action existed, possibly in a hiden file. Again, thank you.
