Lego Mindstorm Tracker

Anyone built/used one ?

I'm thinking of treating myself to a Lego Mindstorm EV3 kit for Christmas, and in trying to warrent the cost, I wondered what photography related projects I might come up with - a star tracker was one idea.

Having read up and watched a few youtube vids, the motors are programmable regarding speed and angle of rotation.

Any thoughts ?

Oooo ... great idea!!!! What about an electric focuser?

Ooo, interesting - yep, I can see how to rotate the focus ring, but not sure how get any of the sensors to interact with it.

Maybe the IR can read a distance to an opject and a motor could turn the focus ring the desired number of steps to hit the mark on the focus barrel.

Distance to object? Assume you mean on the focuser itself, not distance to stars, dso, etc? Haha
