Just the dock, I can find software online, but no instructions, no cable nada.

Despite what others are suggesting about purchasing a cable you shouldn't have to. There should have been one packaged with the dock. If it wasn't there. along with the instructions, then that is a problem. You should contact Adorama and find out what happened.

I see that Jake's purchase was a secondhand item. If you get a new one does that come with the cable? My daughter bought me one a while ago from Amazon, for christmas, and it is now sitting wrapped under the tree. I don't want to not be able to play with it and my 150-600 C over the holidays. With the plethora of different USB connection types it can be really annoying to find that your device has a unusual connector type. When I am looking for secondhand stuff unless the ad specifically mentions that it comes with the cables etc I assume that it doesn't. Of course the well thats OK I've lots of USB cables anyway goes and fall down in a situation like this where the connector is unusual.

Al, new units come with a cable.

Eh, while Helen is a rockstar, I've found adorma proper to be lackluster. Do agree it seems almost criminal to sell something like that without all the cables.

If it was sold as new the cable and instructions should have been in the package. If they were not there then this was an open box which may have accounted for the very low price he paid. Normally this is a $60 item.

Dear SIGMA. the "U" in USB means "Universal"

It does not stand for "Unusual" :)

I agree, the listing is gone, as it was a one time item, but there was no mention of missing parts.

That said it would not have been an issue if it had any of the dozen or so connectors that I do have,. I was quite taken aback that someone would spend time to engineer a connector that does exactly what 12 other connectors do, just to be different, and then that anyone would actually use said connector.

"OSB" ? O stands for Obnoxious

well I would say this is Adorama fault since they never listed it had no cable and new ones comes with the cable. They should have disclosed that in the used item.

How long ago did you get it? If its recent and you have the receipt I'm sure Adorama would follow up and send you a cable if you asked.

I'm a reasonable man.
One that over the years has amassed an inventory of cables the likes of which could sink a small vessel.

I do not however seem to have a USB cable with a connector that fits the SIGMA USB dock.
I have never seen anything with such a tiny connector. It makes the Micro and Mini USB connectors look positively giant.

I suggest you make the effort to get the proper cable through Adorama or Sigma. The cable with my dock has a torroidal filter about 3 to 4 inches from the dock. You can see this in ghe picture at Sigma's website. These filters are designed to minimize electrical interference between devices. Early on the dock was known to have issues with I think Logitech wireless mice. I personally don't have issues with either my Microsoft keyboard or wireless mouse but position the dock as far away as possible from those devices.

Shielded one
kinda negates buying used now that Adorama got one over if they dont send a cable for free.

Yesterday. I've not talked to Adorama yet, but last night I posted this thread to find out if there was a possibility that I was just missing something obvious.

They definitely owe you a cable unless it was sold "as is". There should be instructions and a warranty card as well.
