Issue 1: When I'm doing precise editing, I notice often times as I lift the pen up from the tablet my selection slightly moves. IE. I'm adjusting a curve in the histogram and as I lift the pen off the tablet, my point I selected slightly moves as a result of lifting the pen. Is there a key on the keyboard you can hold down as you release that locks your selection in place?

Issue 2: Often my Wacom tablet starts doing weird things like opening windows, etc. If I unplug it from the micro usb connection & replug it, that usually fixes it until it does it again. I updated the drivers a couple weeks ago but it still does it. Anyone have that issue?

Thanks.

Doug, for # 1 do you have touch enabled on the device? I've experienced similar things with it enabled. For # 2 I wish I had something to offer but I've never encountered that issue. When you updated the drivers did you do a complete uninstall first?

Thanks najudo. I did have it enabled but don't use it so I turned it off. Thanks for the advice. Will see if that helps with issue 2 also. Yes, their tech support took me through the process & I uninstalled the current version first. Here's crossing my fingers!

Have you tried precision mode for the small adjustments? It might be less buggy.

If the tablet is doing weird things it's often interference between the tablet and the dongle because almost everything runs on 2.4gHz. Try moving the dongle so that it's no below the desk or move it to the monitor USB if you have one.

My tablet will only work with the dongle plugged into the computer. Hub or monitor ports and it won't even show up. Weird.

are you talking about the precision tool setting in Photoshop? If so, yes. There's not one for the tablet is there? Seems like you should be able to hold down the spacebar or some other key to freeze your selection while you lift off.

Thanks. I'm can't remember if I use the dongle or not. I have the usb cord from the tablet plugged into the computer so I doubt I use the dongle. Does that sound right?

In the Wacom settings you can set up a shortcut for precisions mode (There may be one set by default but I can't recall at the moment). What precision mode does when engaged is make a much smaller portion of the screen active in relation to the tablet surface. This results in a different ratio of tablet to screen movement than normal. Lager movements on the tablet will translate to smaller, more precise movements on the screen vs normal mode. When I want to make a very precise movement (say for adjusting a point on a curve or moving a slider) I engage precision mode, make the adjustment and lift the pen away before releasing the precision mode shortcut. This eliminates any kind of big, accidental manipulation. If you Google Wacom precision mode I'm sure you'll find plenty of info and likely video demonstrations of possible uses. Hope that helps you out.

I tend to use keyboard shortcuts when adjusting points on a curve. You can use the arrow keys to adjust the points up and down and the "+" and "-" keys to move between the points.
