Setup Stalking Through Reflections

Am I the only one that examines photos and the contained reflective surfaces to check out the setup used?

This is a great time of year due to all of the reflective Christmas balls on cards.

Does anyone else do this and what have you learned?
Is there a good way to PS out or remove these reflections from my own photos?

i always look at the catch lights in the eyes.

I do it all the time. And why remove them? Afraid of giving the setup away? Non-photographers don't go looking for these things, and good photographers would reverse engineer the photo from the way the shadows and highlights are and fall anyway.

In my opinion, reflective surfaces with shopped-out reflections will almost always look shopped.

I am always concerned that it can detract from the main subject.

I have learned a lot by reverse engineering but that means I spend more time look at the "How" and not the "Why" of the photo.

I am glad I am not the only one checking out the reflections.
