I was blown away by how many I saw flying by last night...and equally surprised that after three hours...I only managed to capture one shot. Will try again tonight. Well worth the time out...even if you don't snag a pic.

I use Canon gear...have several bodies and lenses and am quite pleased with them.

Nice picture. I am glad somebody is able to see it. It has been cloudy here for the last week, and the forecast for this week doesn't look much better.

Most of these are pretty faint but I have counted over 30 of them in this photo. this is a 15 second exposure taken with a 24 to 70mm lens set at 35mm and F4. The time as 12:58 on 14 Dec 2015 from Alvin Texas

hahaha, I hear you on that one !!

Monday morn 14th spent two x 1 hr sessions, midnite to 1am and 3 am to 4 am, under the stars, battling high thin to thick cloud
from home within Sydney city and horrid light pollution. I saw 5 Geminids in each of those two 1 hr slots

Tues morning I went to one of my dark sites north of the city for a 2.5 hour session from 1am to 3.30am
and again battling lots of passing cloud :-(
first hr 12 Geminids and 7 sporadic
second hour 17 Geminids and 5 sporadic
last 30 mins 7 Geminids

and in all that only one captured on camera ......
streaking out of Gemini below Orion and towards Taurus

Hi John,
welcome to the forums :-)

A good attempt, but unfortunately no meteors in this image ... lots of nice star trails tho, when the camera got bumped or moved
during the exposure ..... a lesson to be learned there ;-)a
You have all the 2016 meteor showers to look forward to and get some practice in and we look forward to seeing how you get on :)

Regards
Dave
