Hmm not a print expert and you haven't given much info. For example what Inks you are using AND on what paper. Also has this just started happening whereas previously similar images have printed successfully on this printer with these inks on this paper

I have had magenta casts on images when using a printer from new being worse on some papers than others, but always a cast. My solution was to get custom printer profiles done for my printer with my inks with a separate profile for each type of paper. Often stock profiles are not a one size fits all.

Anyway as stated above, you didn't supply much detailed info - I could go on for example what software are you using to print, and are you using colour managed by the printer or an appropriate proven profile etc. etc. [I would use the latter IMO] , so I hope this at least helps you to think through the steps.

Hi Shoshone,
The printer has never worked properly with either my laptop or desktop ... It did for the first few times I used it but after that it just started this weird colour cast. The inks are not canon inks, but even when I've used canon inks the colour isn't right ...
I've found in the past that printer profiles tend to make subtle differences wheras this is just a huge miscalibration ... I'm wondering if there's a reset button or something on the printer ...

No idea of resetting as I use Epson. Try contacting the ink/CISS supplier for advice on reset, but also for their profiles for using their inks or did you use their paper/ink profiles originally?

However if it had this bad a caste as this with Canon inks it sounds more serious. Did you get that cartridge primed OK?
No point in printing with a missing colour! The result will be bad so I'd still try that exercise I annotated ?

Run some of the diagnostics, i.e. nozzle check. Look like your yellow is not working.

Could be a case of double-profiling.

If you let the printing program manage colours, you have to disable colour management in the printer driver.

Thanks for all your messages, will try them later .... Unfotunately I don't get a notification if someone replies on this forum so it's down to me remembering to check .... Anyone know if there's a checkbox I should tick for that??
