I am probably going to replace one of my 20Ds for a 30D. A photographer friend is interested in it but I am not sure what a fair price is. The camera has been well used with about 12000 actuations and minor scuff mark on the pop up flash. What do you guys think is fair?

80% of the price of a new 20D (that's what I would pay).

Even with 12K actuations?

20D is good for about 100,000 actuations so I guess that's fair. I suppose 70% would be more fair.;)

I've noticed that in the market place the 20D seems to be going for 80-90 percent of the current price of a new camera. personally if I have to pay 90% of the cost for a used camera, I'll just buy new, but that is just me. I was hoping for a fair price on a 20D, but could not find one used, so I bought the XT new instead. I consider fair about 70% since the 20D is still availabel new.

That what I did.

Why pay $1,000 for a camera thats a year old when I can pay $90 more and get a brand new one.
