Can anybody please help me work out a decent prices for both of these items which i plan to sell here in Australia? I've been out of the game for some time and I've lost track of accurate pricings.

The main ones is the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM Lens - love it but I have no need for it anymore. My online searches suggested somewhere in the vacinity of $800 AUSD.

The second lens is the crappy Canon efs 15-55 1:3.5-5.6 Kit lens that came with my 350D... i don't really care how much i get for it but hopefully somebody will have a use for it.

Any assistance anybody could give would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I tried googling but that wasn't too helpful...

You can do the conversions, but here in the United States:
- The kit lens: $40-50 USD
- 702-200mm.. is it the non-IS version that sells for about $500-600.

HTH

Thanks very much mate. I'm working off those numbers... I'm deciding whether it's worth posting the 70-200mm lens for sale in the forums here, not sure if there is much interest in this lens as it's big brother seems more popular, i loved it though.

I have the IS version and I'm getting ready to axe it myself. it kind of feels like a solution in search of a problem. Its a bit too short for wildlife for my tastes, and at f4 it doesn't give me enough bokeh for wedding portraits.

Someone will want it. its a solid, weather sealed beast and its ergonomics are great. For rank amateurs and hobbyists that don't care about DOF and like the attention of a white lens it will always hold good value. It will sell sooner or later.

Fair point mate. I love the DOF my lens gives me so I can only imagine how nice your lens is comparatively.

i'll post it in the sales forum and see if anybody wants it.

Thanks again for your comments / feedback

70-200mm f/4 Non-IS? About 5 years ago, I bought one used in the forum for $500. You should probably check for more current prices.

It is available direct from Canon, with a 12-month warranty, for $441. Currently out of stock. http://shop.usa.canon.com …00mm-f-4l-usm-refurbished (external link)

New it goes for a bit over $700, I believe.

I can't speak for the Australian market, but here in the U.S. market an excellent condition 70-200 f4 will sell for around $425 average. I've seen a number of them sell for $400 and ones listed at $450 will sit for sale with little interest. It's only $599 new in the U.S. now.
