I'm having a sort of dilemma when deciding which format to shoot my x100s in. With my 6D, it's RAW 100% of the time. There's just too much to lose in not shooting RAW, in my opinion. With the x100s, I've been doing the same, but I feel as though I'm defeating the purpose a bit. The camera is so simple and lightweight, that I'm carrying it everywhere. These 33mb RAW files feel excessive, and I know everyone raves about the SOOC jpegs from Fuji, but I'm afraid to lose that data. What do you do?

I shoot RAW on my X100T. I did shoot both for a while and I must admit the jpegs were good, but I found the noise reduction a bit 'over-cooked' and I'd rather be in charge of processing.

You can't do 100% magnification on the camera screen if you're not doing raw+JPEG, so that's what I do. I mostly throw away the JPEGs but sometimes use them as reference of what I wanted to achieve while taking the photo (film simulation etc.).

I shoot RAW always... memory is cheap as dirt these days, it's not like I can't afford the extra space. And if I wanted to do a quick upload of all the JPEG's without editing (which I never do anyway) all I would have to do is a quick export with the basic settings set to whatever film simulation preset I prefer (usually Provia).

Whenever I use the WiFi to do a quick Facebook or Instagram post I either just transfer straight to my phone (which is a flat profile JPEG) and edit on the phone in the LR app, or I'll use the in camera RAW conversion and then send that file to my phone for a quick upload.

Fuji's JPEGs are gorgeous, but their RAWs are even better IMO. I still need to find a way to use the Fuji film simulation color presets with my a7S files... changing those to one I like is the first step I take with every Fuji file I edit.

I shoot Raw + Jpeg. If you just taking snapshots then the jpegs are fine but once you start processing the raw files you being to see what the fuss is about the X-Trans sensor. Adobe and Capture One have come a long way in updating their programs to be able to process the raf files correctly. There are also so many Fuji presets out there that you can tweak to your liking to speed up the process.

I thinks Dave nails it here. I find Fuji X-trans raw files have a ton to work with, especially in the shadows.

Zack Arias and David Hobby shot jpeg on theirs(raved about how good it was), Zack switched over to a Lumix I think. Don't know if David is still shooting with one but he loved it for the flash sync.

Seems like a pretty unanimous vote for RAW! I find myself doing the same, even though I'm mostly just documenting every day things and travel.
