Thanks, I didn't try to do too much with the editing... what would you have done differently? swbkrun wrote in post #17844998 Great stuff. The last one is amazing!! Thank you!

Jan 22, 2016 06:14 | #8 "hot" generally means overexposed. Of course, it's definitely a matter of opinion! I think with a slight decrease in exposure/brightness (which is obviously EASILY accomplished with any software program) it would be MUCH better. Your sons forehead is, again - in my opinion, too bright and as such, it becomes a focal point rather than his ADORABLE face and expression. LOVE that moment! I can just see almost any little boy pulling that face for a shot! Image hosted by forum (771393) © jebrady03 [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff. All I did in Lightroom was change exposure by -.40, use a local adjustment brush on both eyes and lighten them back up just a tad, and then add a vignette of -30. And honestly, given how much of the frame he takes up, -30 is probably too much for my own personal taste, but I decided to leave it as a demonstration of what -30 looks like. But, to my eye (and again, it's all personal taste and you and everyone else may HATE IT), I like this better. Also, when downloading the image, I snagged the largest version on your Flickr page and when viewing it, I noticed that the plane of focus was behind his eye. If you did focus on his eye and you notice that you consistently get images where the focus is behind where you expected, you might consider AFMA to bring the focus back where it should be. Sorry if any of this info above seems remedial - I'm new to the board and I don't really know anyone, their skills, or their knowledge so if I'm offering help, I just try to cover all possibilities. I like the 2nd version better. Amazing what a little PP can do to a photo.

I did see the misfocus, but I liked the expression enough to disregard the blurriness. Usually I would an image like this straight to the recycle bin.

I've got many of those myself (not perfect, but keepers anyway)
