Is there an aftermarket lens cap that will fit the Canon 500 f4 mk1 with the lens hood fitted ?? I know the lens hood does a good job of protecting the front element but a slip over or elasticated cover would be more convenient than the standard leather cover that comes with the lens... I'm sure someone must have found something that will do the job....
Thanks, Don.

At home I have a corning ware lid that costs a few dollars. Does everything a brand name would do, for a small fraction of the cost. in fact I have two, one to go directly on the lens, and one that fits the hood when installed. Let me see if I can find the info, as i am away from this stuff to look at it in person.

I like the Don Zeck lens caps, I had one for my 600 F4 L is, unfortunately they are a bit over priced. They are very good but a lot of money for a piece of plastic a and 3 "O" rings!
I do recommend them but not enough to buy a new one for my 800mm.
