Hi all. I am a new 20D owner as of last thursday and I have a strange question. When I first got my camera out of the box and took a few photos I couldn't see them on the LCD screen. It was only a few. The rest were fine. I am not even sure what settings I had it on. Then yesterday I took my camera outside and the same thing happened only I could faintly see the photos on the LCD screen. It was really cold out not sure if that has something to do with it. The pictures almost look like a negative. They are barely visable. Then later when taking a few photos inside I noticed when I played the photos back they look great except I could see bliking shadows on the LCd screen when viewing the histogram and photo. I took a close up photo of a glass ornament hanging on my window and I could see the tree outside blinking off and on. The tree is not visable on the large photo. I am trying all the different settings so I am not sure what they were on. I have since deleted these photos. Should have tried to download them. I am using a 50mm 1.4 lens. Anyone had this happen to them. I just want to be sure the camera is o.k.

The blinking is letting you know that that part of the image is an extreme highlight (blowout). Where were you when taking those first few photos that you couldnt see on the LCD? The LCD becomes very slow and unresponsive in cold temps, so if you were outside, its possible that the LCD screen was just "frozen".

Thanks for the quick reply. The first few photos were taken inside but I had just opened the box which was outside. I will have to play around with it some more to see if it happens again.Hopeing it was just the cold.

Why don't you try turning up the brightness all the way up. It is difficult to see the LCD in bright light.
