I'll have to see what they have in stock in Tulsa tomorrow just for starters, re-starting with what I knew and used 20 years ago seems to be a reasonable re-entry into the darkroom. But, I'll be putting in an order for film and chemistry to probably B&H over the weekend. I've been reading up on the differences but haven't made any decisions

Used to be a place on Harvard or Yale, called York's I believe, that had a a good deal of darkroom stuff. Are they still there?

Canon 7d MkII, Canon 50D, Pentax 67, Canon 30D, Baker Custom 4x5, Canon EF 24-104mm f4, Canon EF 100mm f2.8 Macro, Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5, 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC

I don't know, but Apertures is still selling darkroom supplies, that's where I'll be going. They're on S Harvard just north of 21st now. There is also a Wolfs on Peoria but I know nothing about them either. In 1995 there was a lot more options locally. I'll see how they are service and price wise tomorrow but Tulsa is a couple hours round trip just driving in so if I wasn't demanding some instant gratification I'd order the stuff. If they provide good service the locals will get some but likely not all of my business.

Almost ten years ago I went shopping for simple black & white film, paper, and chemistry in what was then about the best photo shop in the Milwaukee area for the public (as opposed to commercial suppliers). There was very little on the shelves then. I expect that now there would be almost nothing (or literally nothing) stocked for darkroom supplies in local stores. Big suppliers like Adorama and B&H might be able to move a little product but my guess is that they won't keep much in stock due to the time sensitivity these materials have. Film and paper go bad over time and, to a lesser degree, I suspect the same is true for the chemistry.

I have that Yashicamat's brother...

I ran one roll if film through it about 8 years ago and it's been sitting on top of the refrigerator ever since...

I no longer have access to a dark room or anything other than a dark bag, that's remotely associated with souping my own...

I've GOT to order some more roll film!

-im just trying. sometimes i succeed

I have a full portable film lab including a color-capable enlarger (Durst 600 if I recall correctly) that's just sitting collecting dust. There's a set of Nikor stainless film tanks with 35mm and 120 reels. If anyone's interested in taking good care of the kit, PM me. All I need is to have shipping and packaging costs covered.

I would love to be able to take you up on that offer, but I think that little pond between our two countries might be a bit of a problem for shipping.
