Any suggestions to make this better? This bridge is really close to me so I can try again whenever I want!

Needs to be a tad darker, maybe. Still a nice shot. Shame some bozo had to spray graffiti on it.

Is that Sugar Creek?

The sugar creek bridge is a tough thing to shoot. Finding a decent angle without trees is hard. I never got a shot of it that satisfied me. Fall is nice to get colors and the winter allows for a better view but the skies are are hard to hold detail in the winter. Good luck.

Might be a good candidate for a 5-shot HDR.

Try increasing the contrast, or pulling the black point up higher. I also think that getting your shooting position up to a bit higher elevation would help a lot....maybe from a stepladder?

Yes that is sugar creek. Thanks I'll try some of the suggestions here. You're right though, really hard to get a good shooting spot. I think I'm going to take my boat up this spring to get something different from everyone else.

Unless things have changed greatly waders would be more beneficial than a boat.

I took a 21 foot bass boat almost all the way in September. Averaged 6-8 foot deep from the archery range to the bend before the bridge.

Where at in Central Illinois is this one? I am in the Champaign area and would love to go shoot this spot.. And I agree a 3 to 5 shot HDR would look cool if done right..

It's just south of Springfield, near divernon. If you take the Chatham exit off of I-55 and follow the frontage road toward Divernon. Turn right where the county road goes over interstate and follow the signs. It's the sugar creek covered bridge. A google search should yield better directions.
