Find the right deals on paper from Canon like they are now will drastically lower your costs. If you use Precision Color inks and refill your cartridges printing costs are almost inconsequential. ~Steve~

I agree with Steve. I almost agree with you. It may be cheaper to do it at home. I find it more convenient to use Walmart on-line. I prep the photos. Upload the photos. Wait for USPS delivery. If something isn't right (that rarely happens), Walmart will correct it in store - free - until I like it. No worrying about which paper or size I need. No running out of one color of ink in a tank. I find the online thing a lot EASIER, even if it does cost a bit more. Smaller prints are almost free ~$0.09?. The bigger stuff gets a bit more salty.

Convenience is in the "mind" of the beholder (ie. subjective). When somebody wants a print from a portrait session, or my wife decides to frame up 4 prints from Hawaii, etc. I find it easy to just locate the images and send them to the printer. The only hassle is to load the paper and send it to the printer. For online, I have to upload the images and go through the checkout process. Then I either have to wait for them to ship, or go and pick them up, depending on when they are needed. I am not sure which is way is more convenient? Coupled with the cost savings, it just makes sense to do this at home for me anyways. Past Equipment | My Personal Gallery

Why would a paper company that produces paper exclusively for home printing publish something that it's not cost effective? They actually say, "The choice to pursue photo inkjet printing is in the end an individual economic choice." ~Steve~

TeamSpeed 01010100 01010011 More info | We are comparing methods and some are more less costly than others, and that has nothing to do with whether you sell the prints or not. We are not discussing business needs and profit, just the costs side of the equation. Past Equipment | My Personal Gallery
