I had rented a 400mm F5.6. I combined it with my 2xTC and got this moon shot.

That looks really good. I love my 7D with the 400mm/5.6 lens. I've thought about picking up one of the new teleconverters, but I'm not sure if I'd use it enough to make it worthwhile.

Thanks everyone for those kind words.

BeeKeeper, if you put a 2xTC on the 400mm f5.6 then your best aperture will be f11. Definitely for tripod only. I used manual focus and Live view with 10x zoom. A remote shutter release is also essential.
