Digital Camera Speed Challenge #399

Inanimate Faces

Inanimate Faces, you see them everywhere; trees, an arrangement of windows, a facade of a building, clothing, just plain anything that looks like a face that is not meant to be one...that's what I want to see from you.

This challenge begins when posted, and will end at 6:00 p.m. Pacific time Tuesday, 5 January 2016. Winner of this challenge will be announced shortly thereafter.

Standard Rules apply:
Photo Submissions:

1. Camera: Any Digital Camera, but NO Cell Phones.
2. Time: Any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Size: Please visit Image Posting Rules.
4. Post Processing: Do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting: ONE PHOTO per photographer in each challenge.
Camera model & lens used. Post brief EXIF data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used.
6. Commenting: No commenting during challenge. When the posting is closed and a winner has been declared, comments can be made in this thread.
7.
Keep it clean, and both Family and Work safe.
8.
Have questions, PM me.
9. Have FUN!

One challenge every week, on the following schedule:

* New Topic - After winner is declared.
* Posting Starts - Right after topic is announced.

First, words.

A-- Looks like an old codger from that animated movie Cars; banged up, goofy eyed and needing an assist in the smile dept. from a rope. Well seen. Love those MM tones.

Lisa-- I see you got a little crafty there with your cat's dinner, actually part of the container holding said dinner. Back-light brings out the character, reflection adds a body and a bent pull-tab defines the face. Very well crafted.

Don-- Like evil conjoined twins, with the same dour expression. Wonder if the RESET buttons will give them a happy face...probably not. Nicely done.

groundloop-- Damn thing made my day. We got a face, and a very happy smiley face. A very strange hairdo, no-neck and fins for arms. Love it. Umm, great aircraft, too!

You all did very well, but now I have to choose.

Runner-up--Lisa

Winner--groundloop

Thanks for playing!

jason

The plane in my photo is an F4 Phantom, and I wish I could explain what everything is on the tail (which makes such a nice face) but darned if I know. I took that photo at Oshkosh in 2004 with my then nearly new Digital Rebel (which my son still uses).

I'll get the next contest posted by the end of today.

Thanks for the challenge, Jason. When I really looked at the lid of the cat food can, I had to laugh and try to photograph it for the challenge. Glad you liked it! I thought you might appreciate it as a fellow cat person. ;-)a

Congrats, groundloop! I loved that photo. It made me smile. Well done, and great choice, Jason!

Glad that you guys opened up the challenge to include all digital cameras. I will be completely Leica by end of March. I have sold everything except my 35L and my Canon 580 and Metz 58 flashes.
