Gettin' their groove on...

Here's the ritual that Hoodies go through each Spring, well, at least the beginnings of it anyway. This first guy on the left is starting to puff up and strut his stuff to impress the female who is (hopefully) watching from the sidelines. The second Hoodie beside the first is already beginning to show he's game for whatever this first guy does.
Now this third male off beside the female is getting really interested, and I have shots of his, actually, all three of them displaying their 'manliness' to the lone female.
I am more than sure that most here have seen this ritual, it never gets tiresome to me at all to witness.
This particular morning it was REALLY golden and of course, very low light, hence the really bad image, so I made it a (documentary) scene rather than a single shot of a Hoodie doin' his thang.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Probably most birds do a dance or something similar, but these are just plain ol' fun to watch. :)
I know that there is a grebe video floating around that is the BEST I have ever seen as far as mating rituals go.

Here it is, I found it!

Be sure to watch this, this is really something, especially with the music... :)

Thank you, P!
It REALLY WAS this golden too, I did not push this to make it look prettier, and what was weird, this was morning and the golden glare was coming from the Northwest, not the East, maybe it was reflecting off of the Fall colors, this was a few years ago so I can't remember that part of it. :)

Speaking of mating rituals-

In her best Mae West voice...

"Hello Boys!..."

Actually, she was just stretching, I was just slut shaming her for no particular reason. :p
