We're you focused on bierd photography while there? I bet there are many many species to nab. Thanks. My wife and I were en route to New Zealand, but we stopped off for two days in Singapore to meet up with a friend who took us to a few easily accessible birding spots. It was a bit rushed, due to trying to cram in as much as possible in the little time available, but tremendous fun. The Singapore bird list is quite extensive and there must be great opportunities there for anyone with the time to explore fully. Also many of the birds are very tolerant. For example, this Yellow Bittern was right next to some open-air tables where we were having breakfast. In Britain you wouldn't get within yards of any heron without a hide/blind. Poor thing having to sit tight to keep her eggs warm. The Grey Jay is very happy to... They have skills to deal with cold weather. They lay their eggs in the snow every year, they do not migrate to the south for the warmth much like myself lol. They kinda fit with another post here about stashing food and remembering just where. You see they cover food with there own saliva to preserve it and hid it through the fall so they have food for the winter and to raise their young. So they have very good memory's.
