The Yellow-eyed Penguin is the rarest penguin in the world. These two were at Roaring Bay, NZ. The only viewing spot is from a hide above the beach so both these shots are substantially cropped.

Reached a milestone today! My first 'decent' Blue Jay photo! It was on the verge of raining so the light wasn't ideal, but considering that up until now I've had zero respectable Jay shots, this will do.

And a Northern Rough-winged Swallow. Their namesake is derived from the serrated edge of their wing feathers (if you zoom in, you can just make it out). It was starting to rain at this point, you can see a few drops in the background. There was a beautiful Barn Swallow flying around at the same time that I was really hoping to photograph, but I was getting soaked, so he'll have to wait.
