I do hope what ever it is they build its tougher than what I have seen and used so far the last couple years. I'm sick to death of wheels that give it up way to early.

Heck of a nice shot of the jay.

I honestly think you just were unlucky with that particular camera...plus the fact that nothing today is built like in years past. My 7DII took a dump a year ago and I sent it in for repair. The bill was almost $700. I was really upset about that because it was just barely out of warranty. Any camera I buy in the future, I'm going to pay for the 4 year insurance policy that's now offered. I really like the 7DII, but I'm always thinking something is going to break down on it.

Black has always been traditional. I'm OK with black or any dark or camo color. I really don't care much about color.

I want spot metering that follows the focus point, no OPLF and a Backside illuminated sensor. I am fine with 20-24 megapixels.

Thanks Mike, I sure have loved mine as well.. It is an amazing camera for the most part. From here I don't know what a guy would buy for a new camera. I know what I want !! but canon doesn't build it yet.. Maybe never will.
These are all with the 1.4III

we had this bird around for several weeks then disappeared and haven't seen since. Quite healthy looking and somewhat tame.

Made a trip out to the rookery yesterday. I was surprised how many nests still have eggs and young chicks in them. There are also a ton of newly fledged chicks pestering their parents to be fed... here are a couple of examples.

A little blue heron chick begging one of it's parents to be fed. This chick is fully fledged and capable of caring for itself.
