Great close-up shot, Paul. We have a lot of Sandhills out here, but it's been tough to get close to them, at least for me it has.

Slim pickins' here right now with temps over 100 degrees F for the past few days. I'm assuming the water in the bird baths is hot. Don't know if it's sleepy or had the sun in it's eyes.

Bill, that's a sterling hummer shot. I think you're mistaken about the eye. I believe that one is definitely winking at you.

It's hotter than Hades out here too. We are supposed to have a 3 week plus stretch of 100 degrees or hotter. I'm not getting much photography done. I did go outside, and attempted some macro stuff, but gave it up after about an hour (was soaking wet with sweat :-().

Yikes, we are supposed to have three hundred degree days this week starting Tuesday, have had four so far this year had 17 last year. We hit almost 105 the last heatwave, had a couple of brush fires started by a burninng truck and one from a car that day. I live at 3600’ elevation so it is not quite as hot as the low desert.

Me either, have a bum leg now anyway so I am just staying inside with the air on, electric bills are not fun in the summer either.

Nice shot Bill. Hot and dry here as well. The only bird activity around here is common yard birds.

The tonality in this photo is so luscious. Please print and hang on a wall, people need to see this.

Found a family of Eastern Kingbirds, and was in the right spot at the right time to see a feeding :)

Due to the angle shot at, and the harsh light, I'm having a bear of a time in PP trying to get this to look right. Any recommendations?
