I had been looking for a Barred for a long time. My wife and I had hiked the usual spots in South Florida with no luck. On this day, we had given up hope and had turned around to go back. I stopped because I saw a Painted Bunting and Laura heard a noise from the area we had just been. She went back to check it out, and there was the owl ! We just sat and watched for a couple hours and came away with that high that all you know, when you get an opportunity to see wildlife like this.
