Very cool photo, Mike! Is there a follow up photo telling us what happened to the bee?

Shalu...I honestly never saw what happened to the bee. The bird quickly flew off giving me only one keeper shot, and the bee was gone. I never did see the sandpiper eat the bee, but they are a carnivorous bird, so it could of happened. I wish I had a better follow-up story to report.

That is amazingly beautiful.
Almost like a piece of jewellery.

You'd need to be careful when getting so close with those reflections back from the eyes that you were fully clad!
Some of these closeup eye shots are really good.

That's a cutie Graham. I've never seen one before, but they look considerably darker than a mallard duckling.
