You're in the zone right now... like an all-star team running up the score. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the show :-)

lol well.. I don't know, maybe its because I completely stopped trying. I just completely focus on where focus is. the detail is in there somewhere. Just ask any of these guys.

Very nice photo, pleasing to the eye with the nice colors!

Are House Sparrows considered invasive down there in Tasmania like they are here for us?

Thanks Matthew for your comments. Much appreciated.

Yes they are considered that way.
We have Starlings, Blackbirds and Sparrows. All considered invasive, but well entrenched.

A cedar waxwing in Old Forge, NY.

That is a beautiful bird.
Lovely colours and highlights too.
Rather pleasing all round.

Grey Shrike-thrush, Colluricincla harmonica - "joe - witt - ee"
a common sight just now. They love running around the windows singing their hearts out.
Taken from inside room back off the window. Not as tame as some other birds seen on this site :-)

Same heron, different day, different dinner. Critically endangered European eel trying to escape the clutches of the grey heron (it didn't)

Excellent shot, Sid. I didn't realise our eels were endangered.

Absolutely awesome shot Sidknee. To bad he had to choose an endangered species.

Thanks Mike, that was quite fun to watch, he had to put it down to be able to stab it and kill it, there's no way it was going in alive, so it's drop it, chase it, stab it, pick it up and start again. Takes quite a lot of killing does an eel!

Outstanding shot Sidknee. Glad you finally got the one you were after.

Thanks again Mike, I'm happy and not happy about it! On the one hand that's the closest I've been to a kingfisher with my camera in hand, on the other hand the little bugger was only perching where there was bright reflecting water behind. Double edged sword!

Thanks Jack, neither did I until I looked them up yesterday. Someone needs to tell the birds down here, the little grebe is scoffing them at an alarming rate!
