since it is stilt week, here are a couple of the local variety, black necked stilts. It took forever to get good images, they are pretty skittish.

Thanks Ed and Marcial,. I don't get the Hummer's like some do. Mine give me a very short time in the spring and then after the little one's get out and about. This one runs with 3 or 4 other young from this year. Its only been a couple days where they will even slow down from chasing one another long enough to even try and get a shot. And for some reason this one landed atop this rose bush.

I have been trying to get some to my yard with no luck. I see them occasionally at the wetlands but getting a photo is almost impossible as they flit by and are behind a fence. I know there are lots of them around here but so far nothing. I got one lucky shot at a local wetlands this past spring and that's it, even that one is only so-so...

I prefer to be in the bush with the animals than a crowded city.

Some great shots!!

After not seeing much around my place, I went to look at something on my back porch and I saw what I believe to be a gold Finch. Can't wait to try and get some shots of him. And overall, not sure if it's the cooler weather we had today or what, but birds were flying all over today.
