(2 edits in all) | I always envy people with yards, Jeff. I live in the city and don't have a garden and I find my birds in the parks and the countryside. It's basically always down to chance meetings and luck, even though I know some local residents, but they too are skittish, although some more than others. Aug 19, 2016 19:35 | #2514 i found out tonight that if I just walk to the fence like normal, the goldfinches stay put. if i stalk to the fence, they fly away when im 20' away. Here is an end result.. There was a whole group of them the other day but they are tiny birds and it's hard to get them in the thick Summer foliage of the trees as they move around incessantly. Still, I take what I can get because otherwise I can't shoot them at all, and that's no fun. Gorgeous Tits!! Such round little fluffballs they are and I bet they get 'rounder' when winter comes. flickr
