It's getting to the point where it's almost impossible to keep up with this plus other threads, unless I spend half the day at the computer. I always enjoy commenting on the shots I really like, but I'm going to have to simply push the like button, and leave out more of the comments. I hate to do that. :-(

Using MQ instead of making a new post for every comment might save time for you. Following the thread would go faster for people like me, who enjoy bird images but don't post photos and seldom post comments, if some of the prolific commenters would use MQ. Many pages have more text posts (compliments + thank-yous + tips on locations, etc.) than photo posts.

You aren't joking.. too quick, and I feel sort of bad that I can't comment on every shot that I like because when I am able to make it online here, 7 or 8 pages have past, and it's just too much to keep up with. That, and I think I start to sound redundant because everyone's shots are so excellent :)

I absolutely agree.

Just for the heck of it, I looked at some posting statistics for Aug 2018 in this thread.

Total number of posts = 1905
Number of posts with pictures = 585

So 1320 posts (almost 70%) were for compliments and comments, and thanks to the commenters, and various other chatter.

I agree, though, that good comments are real useful and add a lot to the thread. So I don't know what to do about it. -?

It's not often I can take a photo of a bird with a 200mm Prime. These Starlings must be so use to people and just happy to share a bench or a chair with you.

I have no idea of this bird and most other birds. I am very new to wildlife, perhaps one of our experienced member may identify it. Thanks for the complement.

It's an East African Grey Crowned Crane. I saw one some years ago at Sylvan Height Bird Park in Scotland Neck, NC.

There is also West African Black Crowned Crane that is very similar.

Beautiful capture and Starling and proof that you don't have to have a natural perch to have an awesome shot.

A lovely shot that in many other hands might have turned out rather dull.
