Cute duck! Where is the ring?

This is the question everyone asks. The ring around the neck is a very pale, barely visible ring. The ring on the bill, however, is very noticeable. So why wasn't it named a ring-billed duck? I have no idea. Smarter people than me named this duck, so there must be a good reason for the name they gave it.

In the photo below, you can barely see the reddish colored ring around the neck of the duck.

Wow, okay, thanks for clearing that up!

I went back to the other one and can see some signs of the ring now!

Only managed one shot before my new left eye started weeping into the viewfinder. I'll give it another couple of days but what a difference already! I can see what I'm shooting now before I get 'em onto the computer :-)

Good news Kevin
I was just about to send you a message to see how its going.
Well the proofs here.
Don't extend yourself too much too soon.
I've had too many eye ops to know that. We're all different, but eyes are precious.
Take care.
