Help me find one of these in March! These Stilts, Skimmers, and Avocets I've never seen. Am I missing them at Viera? Further south?

Come to Alberta for Stilts. :-) This one was taken at Frank Lake, about 1 hour south of where I live.

Great shot Archibald.
Now what do these birds need? I thought it was ocean but you have them on lakes.
He have 5 lakes here that are 20+ miles long and one that is 2 miles across.
On the positive side, on my own little lake (1.5 miles long, 1/4 mile across) we've seen otters lately!

Stilts like marshy lakes and ponds, and mud flats. I have seen them here and there - for instance, also Hawaii (besides Florida). Now otters, that would be a find.

A close view of one of my favorite little birds, a Loggerhead Shrike, often called a "butcher bird" here in Texas.

He is perched on the dead branch of a Prickly Ash tree, also known as the "Toothache Tree", due to the medicinal effect of its bark.

Hawaiian Black-necked Stilt, in Maui.

Very nice.
Well we've got otters. Imaging one is something to ponder on. I've recently
googled how to bait them and since we raise 700 trout fingerlings each year in a 'rearing' pool for our lake baiting with fish shouldn't be
a problem. Just when I google 'baiting' otters I get hits for trapping them and not imaging :(
Since it will be a staged shot to some degree I'm thinking of just putting trout on a stump in the water? The otter are going to eat
the trout whether I make it easier or not--kinda of like when I put up a squirrel for Harry the Hawk, so no guilt over that. It might be
a good time to put on that camo thing I bought from LensCoat and sit in the kayak.
I'll get to it sometime. Poof has me scheduled for an outing every other week through January; this coming off week we're paddle camping for
four days in the dark woods of eastern Kentucky.......can you hear faint banjos?

Shot from today. Its proper name is Superb Fairy Wren but commonly called Blue Wren

Absolutely outstanding! Incredible color and detail for such a tiny bird. The 5DsR served you very well!

Heya,

I thought I was done for the day, but it rained, and right after the rain the light is near perfect, very diffuse, no patchy sun trickling through the canopy, still sprinkling some rain so everything is a touch wet which helps with contrast & color at least to my eyes. So I ran back outside with my 7D, 300 F4L on my tripod & gimbal and within a few seconds of sitting down, the feeder was swarming. I guess the water helped spread some scent of the seed around?

(Turn around)
Every now and then
I get a little bit restless
And I dream of something wild
(Turn around bright eyes)

Just reminded me of the "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" lyrics

If no one comes from the future to stop you, how bad of a decision could it really be?
