Beautiful species. AUS really is a birding destination. Any particular area of the country richer than others?

Birds are everywhere here but it depends on the species you want as some are only in small area's of the country. One of the best places for amount of species is the Melbourne sewage treatment plant

RS we have a similar place in Florida we visit--Viera Wetlands--which is a water recycling plant.

Thank you Robert and Medroller, got lucky with this particular bird, first time I saw Scrub jay was 4 years ago. I was delighted to see it yesterday after a month of being busy remodelling our kitchen finally got time to go out again.

Thanks to all the likes too everyone. I appreciate it. And with my excitement I realized My camera was in jpeg setting. I forgot to double check my setting in the parking lot lol.

Finally, NOT a bright and sunny day in SoCal. Shot at MFD of my 300mm, the eyes are crisp, shallow DOF and great color, perfect portrait right? Shot with a dome diffused Flashpoint Zoom-Lion @ full power.

The condo complex I live in has the parking lot lined with Cape Honeysuckle and it attracts a large number of Hummingbirds., There are two that seem to enforce a large portion of the hedge, chasing off any others looking for a taste. This one shoots around the hedge and hides in a little hollow until the enforcers move on. I watched this happen a number of times. Caught her while she was waiting. Cloudy day with a diffused Zoom-Lion flash @ full power.
