Thank you Robert and Medroller, got lucky with this particular bird, first time I saw Scrub jay was 4 years ago. I was delighted to see it yesterday after a month of being busy remodelling our kitchen finally got time to go out again.

Seriously though, I've noticed on some of the latest bodies at the house that jpg engine has come a long long way. For me, current thought is if the lighting is really sketchy (meaning I'll have to put on a magician's hat in post) then raw...if light is good (not where I live) then jpg often will do just fine.
