I don't usually take pictures of birds, but this little guy has become quite friendly. We can hand feed him.
The crop is as shot...not really sure how best to trim it, if at all. C&C welcome.

Framing, composition, everything is great.
Shot my first Pileated last week but wasn't really happy with the results. Going to try to go back and find him again.

I still don't know what he caught here. He did battle with it for a long time and managed to tear it up and eat it. He was in a very dark spot and I only took a few shots, expecting them to be rubbish, but watching him I could have sworn it was a fish. Do Coots eat fish?

Ya thanks Dave, I shot that using centre group, locked on the the Pileated and recomposed without lifting. I was hunting Moose at the time and it was getting a little dark which is ok for Moose but !!. I cut it 16x9
