Wow He is very cool.... I miss that little guy.. I think he was here at my house for three winters.. I do wonder just what happened to him.
That white was the hardest thing I ever tried to shoot I think... Wasted a good half a 7DII on that bird lol

Nice, Jeff.

Wonderful shots. Three years is not a bad age for a chickadee so s/he might have died a natural death, but white birds do tend to be particularly noticeable to hawks. :(

I know you miss that guy a bunch and I always thnk of it and you when i see my white goldfinch. Good caption with wasting half a 7D on it haha.

Lol so true ah... I’ve made a effort to not burn up a camera on the little ones this year.. I still take the odd snap but not the 400 a day that is so hard on my cameras lol. Feed that guy well and he will stick around.. my guy would vanish for the summer and return come winter. I was amazing to see him back in the yard. He would make himself known and come straight to hand on returning after months of being gone.

couple of images with the new Canon 1.4 III extender. hard to tell if the images are clearer than the 1.4 II, however it is definitely much faster. i don't think i've had a keeper rate as high as i have today. the weather wasn't the best today but no way i wasn't going to give it a try.

Yes true Jack. I had a few shrikes here in the past and present. One almost ran right into me just as the winter started.
