Well, you sure know how to shoot 'em ! Beautiful ! :-)

Dave very kind, that was with the Tamron 150-600 G2 with TC at 42 feet. Manual focus though on the Sony
at 600mm via the Metabones.
I posted it at FredMiranda, they said I missed focus :) I'd been up 22 hours from work last night. I was just
glad to get the bird in the finder!

Identifying them is the easy part. You have obviously mastered the hard part

MedicineMan Im assuming you focus in live view...? You are zooming in to 10x yes to get your focus ?? It looks to me like his head maybe turning and thus the tad bit of motion blur on #2

Pondrader I was just looking through the OVF, no magnification, no focus peaking, just old eyes that had been up 22 hours :( But honestly I wouldn't have done any better if I'd just woke up. I know it's not anywhere near perfect but it sure was fun adapter that long lens to the little Sony.
Forgot to add that if I can get the focus points on the chest before they fly I'm blessed...at least they land longer than the Blue-Js !!

All things considered, they're pretty bloody good shots IMHO.

I think so too, a teleconverter at the long soft end of a zoom lens....I can't complain. Now truth be known
many posters in this thread would/could get even more out of that combo.
I'll be the first to admit I love tinkering with gear as well as taking images as well as trying to learn to process.
It's all good to me.
I do appreciate the kind sentiments.

Haha! They got their own way over there. You've always been supportive. I hope to image GHS's with you someday!
I really think I'm just getting the 'old eyes', sucks but decades of looking at screens has taken its toll..viable excuse Pondrader ???
p.s. be nice if we head up from Bleinheim and image Pine Martins :) Hey, a man can dream eh?

I live Cardinals !!! I could shoot them everyday. When I get anything out back I'm excited.
Well we're packed for 3 days paddle camping up north in Kentucky---who knows what is there. I do know it's
an mFT trip :)

Love the Cardinal by the way, beautiful portrait.
