Thanks Peter, that was last April in Chile.....I think we might have Peregrines nearby in western North Carolina but I've never seen one in my hood.
I do think falcons are the prettiest of the raptors. In 2 months we'll be looking for Gyrfalcons, odds are small but you never know.

Gyrfalcons talking about it, there is a local report here in sighting in the past weeks and it is still there 45 minutes away from me, I read the report everyday (ebird)?about the sighting I might go check it out. Good luck to us Robert.

There have been at least two different Gyrs posted on different groups from Washington state this past winter. They'll be heading north soon.
